Linda and Tony extend a warm welcome to you at their working vicarage. The house is set back from the road with ample off street parking in front and offers a quiet, homely haven at the end of the day. It is a large, modern house near to St Giles Church.

Just five minutes from the A1 junction at Balderton, Nottinghamshire and a similar distance from Newark on Trent with its Civil War history, connections with William Gladstone and picturesque market square, castle and river walks as well as many varied and excellent cafes and restaurants, The Vicarage Bed & Breakfast is ideally placed for the visitor, the passing traveller or the person working in the area.

Having lived in the area for over 20 years we are able to share our extensive knowledge of the local area, its facilities, opportunities and hidden gems with our guests. Nottinghamshire is a county of great variety and has much to offer our visitors. Within easy reach of the Vicarage B&B you will find:

  • Antiques fairs at Newark Showground and Swinderby

  • Sherwood Forest and the Major Oak – home of Robin Hood

  • Boat trips on the River Trent

  • Riverside walks

  • Laxton – the last Open Field Farming system in the country

  • Southwell and it’s Minster

  • The city of Nottingham with its castle, National Ice Centre and excellent theatres

  • Lincoln with it’s cathedral, excellent shops, Christmas Market and boat trips

  • Wellow, with it’s traditional maypole and annual celebrations

  •  Byron’s former home at Newstead Abbey

  • Scrooby in South Yorkshire –from where the Pilgrim Fathers left for America

  • The annual Southwell Ploughing Match
